My first personal project and of course I jumped straight in to one of my favourites. Call Me By Your Name is set in a hazy summer of 1983 in northern Italy. The music, the wardrobe, the setting, the villa, the coming of age story - I am beyond obsessed. So I wanted to create a few props from the film to get me started. I literally could’ve gone on and on…
I started with recreating the book cover for The Cosmic Fragments, then some sheets of music that Elio transcribes, and finally recreated the poster of Le Mans ‘82 from Elio’s bedroom wall. I’ve included some snippets of the actual props shown in the film which I used as references.

As well as recreating more visible props from the film, I wanted to design some items that weren’t necessarily on screen but could be on set somewhere - in a pocket, a rucksack…
Here I created the train ticket that Oliver would’ve presented when he and Elio parted ways at the train station towards the end of the film. I also designed the plane ticket and baggage stub for his flight home from Linate airport. I produced the cassette sleeve for The Psychedelic Furs, where Love My Way is featured throughout the film but I did change the cover artwork slightly.

I really enjoyed jumping straight into recreating props from one of my favourite films. I kept thinking of new things to create – perhaps I’ll revisit this again
